New Issuance – Revision 1 GCOM & SMS Update Includes the Following:

1. Add to SMS Program Manual:

Section 4.3.1, Fire Hazard Identification

Add the following to the first paragraph so it reads as follows.

Add the following section and update Table of Contents.

“When not in use, small quantities of flammable and combustible materials shall be stored in a flammable storage cabinet. In order to limit the amount of combustible liquid present inside the hangar, there shall be no more than 1000 gallons cumulative of aviation fuel kept in the aircraft fuel tanks or in any portable fuel tanks stored inside the hangar.”

 

2. Add to General Company Operating Manual:

Section 3.2, Safety Procedures/Policy

Add the following section and update Table of Contents.

3.2.16 Flammable and Combustible Material Storage

“Aviation fuels present a potential major fire hazard if an uncontrolled release occurs, especially in an enclosed structure such as a hangar. All flammable and combustible materials shall be handled and stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. When not in use, small quantities of flammable and combustible materials shall be stored in a flammable storage cabinet. In order to limit the amount of combustible liquid present inside the hangar, there shall be no more than 1000 gallons cumulative of aviation fuel kept in the aircraft fuel tanks or in any portable fuel tanks stored inside the hangar.”
